Issue: Manual Switching
1. Switching exercise require manpower (operator), more
space (exchange and workstation operator) and much
jumper cord cable.
2. During peak hour, there are more longer holding time
to make a call.
3. Sometimes, the wrong connection happened due to
manual switching by the operator.
Solution:
The 1st automated exchange introduce at the end of
19th century.
The Strowger switch was introduced.
Then, the Crossbar switch was introduced to replace
the limitation of Strowger switch.
