Subscriber Line (SL) or Local Loop (LL) is a physical

                 connection from the customer premises

(telephone) to central office (local exchange).

This connection traditionally uses single copper twisted

pair. Since the medium is copper, commonly the signal is

                 in analog signal .

The analog-to-digital conversion (PCM) is executed at

local exchange; where the user was connected.
