THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN

              NOISE FACTOR AND NOISE FIGURE

                                         NOISE FIGURE (NF)

                                       DEFINITION

Noise Figure is simply the Noise Factor expressed
in decibels (dB). It provides a logarithmic measure
of the noise introduced by a device.

                                       FORMULA

                                       VALUE

Since the Noise Factor is represented
logarithmically, the Noise Figure is always larger
than or equal to 0 dB. An ideal device with no

added noise has a Noise Figure of 0 dB.

                                      UNIT

The Noise Figure is expressed in decibels (dB).
