                                         Expression
                                         Noise  Factor  is  a  linear  ratio,  while  Noise

                                         Figure  is  the  logarithmic  (dB)  representation
                                         of that ratio.





                                         Interpretation
                                         Noise  Figure  is  more  commonly  used  in
                                         practical  applications  because  it  provides  a

                                         more  intuitive  understanding  of  the  noise
                                         performance  of  a  device,  especially  when

                                         dealing  with  multiple  stages  of  amplification
                                         or components in a system.




                                          Calculation

                                          While  both  measure  the  same  phenomenon
                                          (degradation of SNR), Noise Figure is derived

                                          from  the  Noise  Factor  through  a  logarithmic
                                          transformation, making it easier to work with

                                          in  calculations  involving  gains  and  losses  in
                                          decibels.
