                                  IV CURVES

                                                                                                                    CHAPTER 4

                                              It refers to the drain saturation current when
             Max saturation the gate-source voltage (VGS) is zero.

             drain  current

                  (IDSS): It represents the maximum current that flows
                                              through a JFET when there is no bias applied to

                                              the gate.                                                             CHAPTER 3

                Pinch-off It is the minimum Drain-Source voltage (VDS)

             Voltage (VP): at which the drain current (ID) becomes
                                              constant saturation during VGS =oV.

                                             The VGS determines the electric field in the
                                             channel region, thereby controlling the current CHAPTER 2

                                             flow through the JFET.

            Cut-off Voltage

               VGS (off): Channel is completely cut-off.

                                             VGS (off) represents the value of VGS that

                                             makes drain current, ID approximately zero,

                                             ID=0A.                                                                 CHAPTER 1
